alternator???

Question alternator???

Is there such thing as to big of a alternator? I want to get a new one but dontdon't want to get a bigger one if its going to burn **** up

I'm using a 200 amp one with no problems.

You can go as big as you want as long as the alternator fits and produces the proper voltage. However, if you are planning on using more amps than the car maker originally built for, the wiring may have to be beefed up to prevent it from overheating. Keep in mind that excessive voltage will cause components to break down, and excessive amperage will cause wiring to burn up.
