think the filter will still be worth it on its own, also my K&N is 1 million miles guaranteed, ans washable and an wash and oil kit last ages too. So dont need to change the air filter every 10-20K like i used to do.
zstalls says it better on his V6 and you do defo get better MPG, on the cruise, its the other way if you have a lead foot

well i only have the K&N (with the SLP lid) just because I could get the K&N supplyed here in the UK and also because i can wash it each service and recoat with oil and its like new. Just when you wash then use only a little oil otherwise it can mess up the MAF
i dont know about the slp blackwing, if you can wash and oil it the same i would say there is no difference
