Default Air dam?

I'm pretty sure that black piece of plastic under the front of my 02 is called the air dam, please correct me if I'm wrong but you all probably know what I'm talking about. When I bought my car I noticed that it was held on with a zip tie on one side and was sort or drooping on both sides. The screws or bolts holding it in have been eaten up with rust and whatnot. Should I just delete it or is there a good reason to fix/replace it?

Replace it. It scoops up air and forces it into the radiator.
