i still havent gotten the diagnosis back from GM yet about what they're gonna do
would i be able to keep the engine and just have them put in a 350 or a 355 kit? like do thsoe come with bearings, rods, etc?

The cheapest route that's going to get you back on the road fastest is probably going to be getting the broken part repaired, simple as that. If you have some extra money you can think about doing a new bottom end while it's out, but that's not going to be cheap.

its not as easy as replacing the part. your going to have to get machine work done, depends on how long you drove it with the spun bearing your crank/rod could be junk. scoring of the cylinder walls, it goes on and on. the whole motor will have to be torn down and cleaned. And the lt1/ls1 trans are not the same. input shaft, front cover, bell housing, clutch slave,clutch, flywheel, shifter, all different
