Actually I would, a "backyard" garage has to stay in business by providing a timely and good service for an affordable price. GM dealerships are there to sell you a car and make money off of financing and loans, not off of repairs.

 

+1, never go to a dealer unless ur buyinga car or its going to be free with warranty..... those guys are crooks

That doesn't sound good. Although a cracked flywheel or flexplatecan sound just like a spun main.Use a stethiscope to isolate the location of the sound.

 

We narrowed it down to a spun bearing already, but thanks for the input!

Some of the best mechanics I know run small shops out thier home garages. Some of the worst work I have ever seen comes from dealerships. Sorry but if you took your car to a dealer for an engine swap, you got raped.

Sounds good. although your camera was really shakey and low quality it seemed to look good too.
