acceptable quality?
I bought a pair of rotors from rockauto, one of them appears to be brand-spanking-new, and the other one looks newish. you be the judge, should I keep sending the second rotor back until I get one that looks like the first one?
looks brand-spanking-new, the black fusion coating looks fresh and new
looks newish, im not sure what a turned rotor actually looks like but is this it? the black fusion coating on this one is defiantly not as fresh as the other one, also the "anti-rust slime" they put on it when new is old dry and caked on the second rotor, and nice and fresh on the first one.
I think I may have just convinced myself while typing this that the quality of the second rotor is not good enough for me and i'll be sending it back...this is why I only order parts online for hit i'll be doing myself.

I would not worry about one sitting on the shelf got a few months. We are talking Cast Iron, it is considered a dead material. Age has little effect on it and within a week of use you will have a tuff time figuring out which was the nicer rotor to start with by looking.
BUT it does looking like you have two rotors that where finished with different processes. One has a blanchard grind finish and other seems more like a cylindrical grinder. That could cause the pads to break in differently.
