Default accelerating by itself??

hey guys, i have a 99 z28 that apparently accelerates by itself. for instance, i'll be at a stop sign, take my foot off the break and it starts going naturally. but instead of slowing itself down, it just keeps accelerating, 5-10-15-20-25-30, etc. Now i'm not a car whiz by any means, and this is my first v8, but i don't think this is supposed to be happening.

Sounds like your throttle gets stuck open. What does it rev at when you have it in park/neutral?

ok i took it out again, this time it didn't accelerate by itself as fast as before. It had trouble getting over 10 mph then eventually it started accelerating by itself again, i guess it had trouble getting itself out of first gear? it was at 750 rpms in park/neutral. I'm not sure what its normally at cause i just bought the car a week ago. I didn't check to see it the rpms went up as it accelerated, but i'll check in the morning. I'm almost positive it stayed at 750 though.also i haven't done any work to the tb, not sure if a previous owner did, the guy didn't mention doing any work on the car aside from the magnaflow.

If the RPMs stay the same, the speed should be steady.

if your RPMs arent around 1000+ then i dont think its your throttle because 750 sounds reasonable mine are about 500-600.. but im not sure, it could bethethrottle linkage doesnt want to shut (and now it sounds like it doesnt want to open) without more force.
