Ok so I have a 2001 Camaro and my ABS lights came on this morning. My dash looked like a space ship. It is now running rough, I just put her back in the garage and drove the truck. What made this happen? I drove it 2 days ago and all was fine. I replaced a tail light before the last time I drove it. Can I reset the computer or unplug the ABS to reset this?

 

Messing with taillights can cause weirdness with the abs sensors that causes the dash light to come on, as weird as it sounds. I think that's happened to me before, along the time I was messing with tailights (abs was all that came on though). Make sure you installed the bulb right. You're not supposed to cram it in the socket as far as it will go. There's a spin and locking motion to it.

 

Welcome to the forum, must of missed the big "do not post tech questions here" stickie on the main page huh? Well anyway, a burnt out bulb or just messed up bulb can send the ABS blazing into your eyes. Look around for a bulb that's not right and change out if needed. And a ABS problem won't make your car run bad, there has to be something else going on with that.

Puck, the 98+ plus cars that the spade type bulbs, so you just push them in, not like ours.

 

I have the flat type bulb so you have to just slide it in, now my car starts but you can not even rev the motor. The ABS is in the off mode, could this be my O2 sensor?

 

Yeah, you're car uses 3157 bulbs. ABS is the braking system, it has nothing to do with how the car runs.
