Default Abs issues

Found out from the shop today that the abs control module, and the abs pump and motor assembly are toast. The shop can apparently only get them from the dealer...came to $2000+ for just parts. Is this something that is doable in the driveway if I get the parts myself? The shop said the control module may need to be programmed by the dealer, is this true? Does anyone have a how to on this job? The car is a 94 3.4l.

Yeah, the prices on rock auto are much better. How do I change them out? And where do I find the control module?

thanks, i believe i've seen it before. just didnt know what it was at the time. to change the abs pump/motor assembly would i have to drain the whole system of brake fluid first? or is there a way to change it without having to drain the system?

we had one guy switch them, one from another car, and bleed it. it worked. i would advise you have a shop do it though. brakes are important and abs is something i have not tried to get into.
