About to buy, airbag/inspection question
#13
you could prolly get estimated pretty quick if you called around your local shops. Usually they are listed in the automotive section of the phone book under rapair/Airbag specialists. Alot of those guys are a mobile mech that goes from body shop to body shop doing airbag repairs. Some cars require the tech to be ASE certified to service air bags or else the car will lose its warranty and other liabilities that go with it. Once a car is out of warranty the factory usually does not care any more. The Airbag system is not too difficult to service but some steps will need to be followed in order to keep you from messing stuff up. Haynes/Chilton books will not tell you how to work on the systems so dont bother looking. Factory service manuals are your best bet.
