Default 99 3.8l tps.

Hey guys, need some help here. I have a 99 v6 3.8L camaro. it threw 2 tps codes and a random misfire code. im assuming the TPS is going bad, but before i spend 300 dollars on a new TB id like to test it. does anyone have any information on testing it? all is appreciated! thank you!

This is testable with a scanner that can read computer data. They are not the most accurate but they do OK. The best way to test is to use the TECH II. There is no replacing the TPS with out replacing the entire throttle servo assembly. Also note that TPS codes can be caused by the pedal sensor as well.

inder the dash. Mine was a white box attached to the pedal assembly. Again you need to use the TECH II to test it. Most scanners that can read live data will not give the petal sensor data but they will read the TPS position.
