Hi, I was just wondering who would/ should win this race.

A 97 z28 with long tube headers, an upgraded cam, and exhaust. Also an Automatic.

And a 99 cobra with 4.10 gears, cold air intake, flowmasters, and a tko tranny.

Any info would be greatly appreciated regarding who has the advantage in this race!

That sounds like it will be a close race. Not knowing a little more info on the cars would be hard to say who would win. Right now it looks like he may edge you out with his 4'10's. Hp might be similar but again with out knowing all the specs it's hard to say.

 

I'm gonna bet the Cobra (not taking sides here), but it will be fairly close, now if he can't drive, things may tilt in your favor.

 

Who ever wants it the most lol. Eat that mustang.

 

32 valve cobra comes off the line with about 35 more horses than the Z stock. The mustang's gears are going to give it more of a edge then with the help of the intake and exhaust the mustang is going to be hard to take. It might be closser if the Z had gears or a large cam but if its only a hot cam or something like that its going to be hard to win. Traction could become a facter as well.

 

But if you get aGood set of 3.73s and new heads and a good cam you should take him with no problem.

 

what kinda cam you have? i'm leaning towards the cobra but it all depends on what kind of cam you have

I know im just bustin ***** again, but the "mod it more" argument doesnt help here. I agree with the other guys, the cobra has the edge here unless its a big cam.
