I just picked up a 1997 SS convertible 6 speed. How do I know if I got a slp, how can I find out what number I have? First fourth gen. Sold my l69 iroc z. Still have a 88

All '97 SS were converted by SLP.

 

'96-'02 for that matter but he can confirm his is a real SS and not a clone with the vin# at SLP.

 

I have a '97 convertible SLP. I have an added sticker on the passenger door. Another added sticker of the drivers door, and the tire rating SLP sticker placed over the top of the original stickers. Here is the one on the passenger door:
