Exclamation 97 camaro RS

Just bought a 97 Camaro SR 30th year anniversary edition....

The fuel guage is pinged to the full mark.....not sure if its the sending unit, or maybe the cluster? if i change the cluster will it take the miles from another car, or keep my miles on it?

First of all, lol its an RS, on an SR, 2nd, ALL camaros do that. There's nothing wrong with the sending unit. All camaro gauges read off kilter. The car is full when the gauge is pinned, then when it reads 3/4 its half way full, when the gauge Reads 1/2, its really down to a quarter tank. The car will stall out as soon as you get to the E because that is dead empty. If you replace the unit, your gauge will read exactly the same.

I wouldn't say it's normal, at least not if he has an empty tank when the gauge is pegged full. Could be the sending unit, or a bad wire connection at the unit, at the gauge, or a broken wire anywhere in between.

yeah mine does that too, but about the only time mine is "accurate" is at the 1/4 tank, then i know i have 2 gallons left....other than that not so much....i can go about 90-100 mile on the interstate before the damn needle moves off of full lol.
