96..security system won't disarm

Is there anybody that can help me with this?? Like it says, I have a 96 camaro and the security system won't disarm. I've had it to the dealership 4 times now and they can't fix it. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes the security light is solid, sometimes it's flashing. I just paid $800 for them to replace my BCM and that lasted about 5 weeks. I read somewhere that it can be disarmed if you disconnect it at the starter but the dealership says it's not true. HELP!!!!!

Ohm your key to make sure that the chip is not bad. We had a key that would work at times and other times would do exactly like you say. Dealership told me that there was no way it was the key. I ohmed it out and it showed good. I tried it again and it showed no resistance. Had new key made and no more issues.

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it. A year and a half ago this happened to me and the dealership put in a new ignition and cut me a new key. I think I'm going to try the "bypass" route. This has been an ongoing issue for the last year and I just want it disconnected once and for all.
