Default 96 3.8 AC Compressor Removal

Any advice on getting the Compressor out? I see bolts in the back and they look hard to reach. Does the Alternator need removed to get to the back bolts and hoses. Or am I missing something? Thanks!

Still struggling with this. I can get a socket on the rear bolt but not a ratchet. Cannot get open end wrench even close.

Any tips or better tool ideas. Don't want to remove entire exhaust system to access it but it's tight. I'm sure someone has had better luck.

Im not too sure how close the v6 set up is to the v8 set up, but I know my gear wrenches came in handy as well as a couple different sized socket extensions. I did all the work from the bottom with the exception of the bolt that hols the lines onto the rear of the compressor. You just need to approach a job like this with patience and some logic with a little "creativity" mixed in. Good luck!

I think I had to use a swivel socket on an extension but I have headers so I may have had more room.

Finally got it out. Had to use a toggle socket adapted and a swivel socket to get the rear bolt holding the hoses. The other two bolts were easier. Thanks for the tips!
