I was just wondering do the ECU's need updating? I've heard a few people say they update theres even on older 4th gens like my 94 is it possible to update the computer? If i did what would be the pro's and cons?

 

im not sure what is ment by update. u could switch to a newer style but that would involve changing some things, wire harness, sensors and most likely more depending on what u have and what u are switching to. im sure some yrs are more friendly to each other but u having a transition ecu i dont really know. u can send your ecu in to be tuned stock or for your upgrades like air intake, headers, etc and add hp and/or mpg.

 

having it tuned might be what you are thinking of.that usually is done after making mods or reverting back to stock after mods were done.
