94' head gasket knowledge
i have a 94' V6 3.4 and i just got it looked at today for its overheating and was told it could either be a intake gasket or head gasket i def dont have the money to have a mechanic fix it for $1500 but i do have a friend who will do it for me if he knows how if anyone has any knowledge theyd like to share on how to get this done that would be great !
do you know if that would have anything about fuel injection in it? i had someone start to replace the intake and head gaskets and he found water and oil in the fuel injection "/ could i just dump a bottle of fuel cleaner in there or something ? or should i take it in somewhere
A blown head gasket will cause overheating because it allows combustion gases to force themselves into the cooling system. Abad intake gasket will allow the engine to suck coolant into the combustion chamber, and eventually the engine will overheat due to low coolant. Getting back to your question, water and oil still have no way of getting into the fuel injection, unlessthey wereputin the fuel tank first, but have nothing to do with the engine overheating.
In any event, some oil in the fuel will just burn out. Water is another matter, as it is may actually prevent the engine from running. IF the amount of water in the fuel is not excessive, a few cans of dry gas will get it out. If there is really a lot of water in the tank, try a few gallons of methanol.

yea he said the oil was getting in the because it had nowhere to go so it basically forced itself into any hole it could? its all foreign to me but id be so glad if i could get rid of that problem by just using gas or that methanol so thank you for all your help !
