Default 93 z28 muffler

I'm possibly getting a 93 z28 but I have an exhaust related question. I like the look of the factory exhaust on the z28's but I do want a good rumble. How hard would it be to just swap out the stock muffler for say a Magna-Flow muffler? I mean the stock tips are welded to the stock muffler right? Or would it just be a bolt on job?

You would have to chop the old muffler off and weld the new one in. If you're just looking for a change in sound you can do just that. Typically a complete cat-back system is recommended because it gives you a 3" mandrel bent pipe all the way to the back of the car. The stock 2.5" compression bent pipe gets a little restrictive as it passes over the axel, so you can see some decent gains from the larger diameter and better bent pipe.
