a 98 is not an LT1 car. Be careful if some one is trying to pawn one off to you.

98 LT1 car? 98 should have LS1. Is this stricktly a strip car? There are A LOT better cars to start with. The 4 gen body is a nightmare to mod. There are no production Big Block parts, Just getting a big block in the compartment is a huge project with many parts made from scratch. Once its in forget abut working on it. You have to pull the motor just to adjust the timing. 3rd gen Camaro would be a MUCH better choice for a project like this and can be bought for 400-800 bucks.

Have a look at this engine bay. Where are you going to put these two turbos you are wanting?

And that's if you keep the original engine- you try to put anything else in there and you're in for a world of trouble.

I have to admit this would be a neat project to see, but Gorn is right a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Gen would be a MUCH better choice...

I have seen twin turbo LS1s. When I get a chance I will look for the info. If you want a twin turbo LS1 it can be done. If you want to go fast that is NOT the way to get there. Don't get me wrong it would be fast but you will get out run by guys with 1/2 the money invested in a LS1s. Of course if you have an unlimited budget then it does not matter.

OK ........... a little more to the story. The car is a 1997... 3rd gen?? But has a 1998 frontend on it with the bubble headlamps. It all looks ok the guy that has it doesnt know much about it he got it from someone and was going to make it into some type of race care and then lost interest. So giving that its a 3rd gen does that have more room... The motor will not be a spare no expense.... but right now I have a 900hp small block and has a 300 shot fogger on top of that and it runs 5:20 at 3000 lbs on a 315 drag radial in a 70 nova..... so trying to go into the 4's with a twin motor and stock suspension???

so i guess Im retarded ........ a 1997 is still 4th gen it just has an older frontend....... what about a small block twin .... i think i need to be around 2000hp
