It sure does. Up until (and including) the 93 model, the Camaro had the 700R4/4L60. Then the 4L60E starting in 94 in both v6 and v8 models.

The 4L60 is a 700R4, by a different name, they're not two different transmissions. GM changed the name of some of their transmissions in 1990 to clarify their application. 4=4 speed, L=longitudinal (rear wheel drive), 60 pertains to how they classified the torque rating. By comparison, a 4T60E is a transverse model (front wheel drive). Most people still called their 4L60 a 700R4, either because they didn't realize there was a name change, or because it's what was familiar from previous years.

thats good info (i always wondered why 4L60E) but more or less i was saying that the 3.4 bolt pattern is different than the LT1 (hence why i thought the 3.4 had a different trans) anyways this is not important back to this guys problem

do you have reverse???

Yeah, quit distracting me!!!
Could be a shift solenoid or related problem, or a VSS issue, or.... If it's one of those, the trans would be put in what's called "limp mode" which uses only 2nd and 3rd gear.
That would explain the doggy-ness off the line, and how the shifting is feeling weird to you. Check engine light on by chance?

what year is it? ^^^ agree first thing i thought of was speed sensor or damaged wires to the trans. probly be a good idea to have it scanned for trouble codes to see if something is going on to put it in open loop.

I changed the 02 censors, EGR, Trans fluid n filter nuttin chaned except it runs smoother if you put it down to first though she launches smokin ruber for 30 plus ft. if you start in first and shift through the gears it dont wanna shift into second till your fully off the throttle but its ther and when you hit drive it acts like a dog n slows all to hell??
