3.8 performance parts
I did some quick searching to see if this question has been addressed but failed to find anything, so I do apoligize if it has. Any way I am wondering what are some good performace parts that I could get for my 97 3.8. I already have the SLP dual cold air intake and after market exhaust ( no headers) I have had somebody tell me to get this aftermarket Mass Air Flow Sensor, and then to get the factory computer tuned on the dyno to the advanced performance parts. Im not trying to make it a race car but would like to see some more get up. I plan to own a Z one day but for now this is what I got.

Go to the V6 section there is a sticky in there
"4th Gen V6: How-to and FAQ - Have an issue? Start Here "
All the info you are looking for is there. Mass ais flow sensor is not a problem on these cars and they work good on a stock or near stock motors. It seems headers would be your best upgrade. Hold off on the tune until you have eveything done you want done.
Good Luck.

you can go as far as you want if you have the money. ZZ Performance and INTENSE-Racing.com - Pontiac G8, Grand Prix, Bonneville, Regal, L67 3800 Supercharged Performance Products, Mods and Tunes. make a lot of stuff for the 3800. take a look in the stick "Sofie's engine rebuild" to see what was put in my fiance's motor while it was rebuilt

Stock MAF's can support over 500 horses and are pretty good systems. They can even compensate for dry nitrous systems to a certain extent. Many people who go to aftermarket MAF's end of switching back to stockers.

With headers and a cam 250 at the engine HP is resonable. What is the condition of your motor? How many miles? remember anything you do that adds power add pressure to the cylinders and thes cars are prone to headgasket failure. You should upgrade your head gaskets if your going to push it.
300Hp would require transmission and rear upgrade and doing it without a good rebuild that includes new Rod/Main bolts and pistons is going to end badly for you.

Read up on this series:
- Tom Henry RS V6 Camaro Project
They did a LOT of work, and ended at ~230 RWHP...
