Default 3.4to 3.8

Are the subframes the same for these engines. I have a 95 with the 3.4 but the subframe where the lower control arm mounts is bent badly. I found a parts car with the 3.8. Is this swap possible? would it be easier to put the 3.8 in the 95? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks, Mike

Doing a 3.8 swap is the same amount of work as an lt1/ls1 swap.

^Except you don't have to change any of the suspension components, driveshaft, or rear end because that the 3.8 weighs about the same amount as the 3.4 and had the same rear end and driveshaft as the 3.8. Doing the v8 swap, you have to basically change the entire platform, including the suspension, rear end, driveshaft, electrical, tranny, and everything else you could think of haha.

The K frames are different as are the motor mounts, Swaping 3800? as a general rule these types of swaps are huge pain because the major changes the took place in 96 with the comupter systems. You would need a whole car and you would have to swap most of the electronics. Now if you found a 95 3800 that swap might not be too bad. They are fairly rare. I think only 5% of the V6 are 3800 in 95.

And were only released in California, if I'm not mistaken.

I am not sure. Since the 95 3800s are fairly rare I do not know of anyone who has tried it. I think you are in uncharterd waters. I know you will need the Cross member, engine and trans, I think you would need the computer and wiring harness since the 3800 has a different firing order. I assume the 3800 has a larger radiator but I do not know that for sure.

Check that, I think the trans will bolt on.
