3.4 V6 Turbo psi limits
Hello, I'm going to be building a 3.4 v6 very soon and dropping it in my 94. How much psi would i be able to run on stock pistons and rods. Or do i REALLY have to upgrade them? And no, I'm not dropping in a v8.

how many miles are on the car??? did you lower the compression??? lots to take into consideration if your not lowering compression take into account the higher you boost more likely your gunna blow your head... if motor isnt rebuilt with low compression i wouldnt try to boost it at all

Your really going to spend all that money and do all that custom exhaust work and install an intercooler and not upgrade the motor? If you are that skilled you can make a custom turbo kit then just do some custom headers for guys building rods. Building custom headers is way easier then building a turbo system and in 3 or 4 weekends you could make enough to build the motor right. Heck you you could make custom turbo kits for other 3.4,, wait other companies tried that and stopped because it makes no sense!
Step one to make a 3.4 fast, fix the head issue. The turbo will put more air/fuel into the cyclinder but you need to get that back out. Turbos cause back pressure. You are going to make a weak spot in design even more of a weak spot. Modding should always be about finding the weak spot and making it better.
Maybe this will answer your question tho. We are suppost to be impressed by this? I am sure he used a manifold off a FWD 3.1 turbo. I hope thats not his daliy drive I heard rods knocking. I would nick name this car TNT It just waiting for someone to push the punger.

nice hks super sequential blow off valve haha anyways back to the OP if ya wanna build a motor for boost that will last your daily abuse go with the 3800 stroker kit and you can boost about 10 lbs without any issue other then maybe getting rear end to bite

I have a 3.4 v6 from a 94 camaro that I installed in my s-10 that I built from top to bottom and even installed a old b&m root blower on it. I am seeing about 8psi and It is crazy. Just make sure it dosen't go lean and don't cheap out on building the motor. I am running P315/60R15 mickey et street radials and with out the tractions bars it was hard to get them to hook under boost.
