2000 Stereo Wiring

2000 Stereo Wiring
Ok, my buddys got a 2000 Camaro, ive got some experience with car audio so ive been helping him redo the system in the vehicle. The vehicle already had a Aftermarket Head Unit installed but had all stock speakers when we began working on it.
Ive come acrossed a few hangups and im hoping someone here to can do me a huge favor and explain the wiring in the 2000 camaros, as far as the audio is concerned. The front door speakers each have four wires running to them, there seems to be small subwoofers on each side of the rear seats, and then two smallers speakers in the trunk area. I cant figure out why the front door speakers have four wires, at first i thought they powered the subs in the back but with the front disconnected the back subs still work so i don think thats the case. Also the new pioneer speakers i installed in the vehicle are making alot of static when the volume goes above about 30 on the head unit. I tried several different wiring configs and im confident its not the wiring so we are going to replace the headunit, but i dont fully understand the wiring of these camaros so i cannot be certain. Also, i have yet to look behind the head unit, so i cam unsure if the last owner did their own wiring, or if they bought the wiring harness adapter, but at this point i am assuming the wiring behind the head unit is correct. i will update this post if that turns out to be incorrect.
The info im looking for is;
- Why are there four wires for the front door speakers?
- What wires on the front door speakers are positive and negative?
- What powers the rear subs?
- What powers the rear trunk speakers?
- Why does the car have 6 speakers (including the subs here)?
- Does the number of speakers/subs mean the car did originally have the monsoon system?
-How to replace the rear speakers? They seem to be riveted to the plastic trim.
- Any other useful information / advice you can offer me about the audio wiring in these 2000 camaro's?
Thanks, i appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Sounds like a Monsoon system. The short answer is that the front speakers have dual voice coils. This is why there are 4 connections. Check this link for info on the Monsoon system http://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-ele...nsoon-faq.html
