2000 SS leaning
I recently bought a 2000 SS convertible. I noticed today while walking up to my car that it sits lower on the passenger side, Most noticeably in the rear. Does anyone know what would cause this? Maybe a bad shock or spring? Hopefully nothing is bent... I will try to get pictures up tomorrow. Thanks for any help guys.
Some say that is just how it is and there is variance among cars -- there was a similar thread on this in the Suspension & Brakes section on LS1Tech.com What shocks are on the car and how many miles?
OEM de Carbon/Delphi shocks are the weakest link in 4th Gen suspension -- consider changing them -- SLP Bilsteins, or Koni SAs if you want to lower or can afford the best.
It is also possible if you have or once had a disconnected or blown shock before you bought it that the spring on that side could have unusual wear compared to what would be expected normally.

the only way i noticed it was when i measured from the floor to the fenderwell while ordering parts from strano's. he mentioned that it is thought that gm did design the 4th gen camaro to set level with a driver. if its true or not may never be known for certain.
i could be wrong but i have a hard time believing that gm designed it that way. I would imagine its just years of use and probably the chassy wants to twist that way when you get on it.
shocks shouldn't play any roll in the ride height there only purpose is to dampen impacts and the springs. again shouldn't doesn't always mean does.
also usually there is a rubber bushing or donut that the springs sit in. sometimes those can break down or they get twisted and the spring isnt siting in them right.

my car doesnt lean like i said but i also replaced all my springs and the bushing the springs sat in and my shocks and struts or maybe im just lucky or maybe its so slight that i cant see it. Though i catch almost every abnormality in my car. but like i said parts wear out with age especial when a cars like these that are run hard and there age.
