1998 hatch glass?
I found a 1998 camaro v6 for sale. It's been for sale for a couple weeks and last week somebody smashed the rear hatch glass. So they dropped the price to $500.
Where could I buy or find a new rear hatch glass should I decide to buy it?

You can get it from a junkyard or look for someone on the forum parting a car out in your area. I would say thats the most cost efficient way to get a replacement.

About $300! Sorry, couldn't resist!! I have never done it but I have seen glass people replacing glass and they have some type suction cups that they place on the glass to lift it with. Also, if you get a used one, my understanding is that they can be very briddle and easy to crack removing from the frames. I don't know, just what I been told.

100% agreed, Go pro. sometimes you no sooner replace the glass your self it cracks as you put it in or as you take it out of a car. and to grab a Whole rear hatch figure u have paint unless ur lucky to find one that matches and it ups the price. So I completely agree!!!

So is it different from third gens?I thought the third gens just had the glass and then the rear deck lid piece attached to that. Would it just be easier to get a whole new rear hatch? If so how much would you say those would go for in a salvage yard or something.

Depending on the color of the car, it might be easier to just buy a complete rear hatch and install the entire piece instead of just the glass. Again, that might be if it's easy enough to find the rear hatch in your color and it can match properly. I know I used to see complete hatches on e-bay fairly cheap, so I'd imagine the local yards would be fair priced as well.

Yes they are all the same.
Also just replacing the glass is a pain in the a$$ you may want to just let the pros handle this. This glass is glued to a very flimsy frame that will want to move and flex alot. If you dont get the glass set properly your hatch will not close or seal properly, and you may even break the glass by shutting the hatch.
