I have a quick question for anyone that can help, I recently got a 1996 Camaro that has a blown 3.8L V6. I bought an LT1 from a 1994 Trans Am, and I want to put that engine in my car. The engine comes with an automatic transmission, the ECM, and the under crank pulley. However, it doesn't come with the alternator, or compressor or any of that other stuff. What all do I need to do to get the LT1 to work in my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best thing to do would be to find an LT1 donor car that's in the junk yard (RIP) to get the spare parts off. I'm not sure everything that you'll need but it will be substantial. Obvioulsy the major parts, radiator, hoses/cables, sensors, exhaust, motor/tranny mounts etc. etc.

You need the chasiss harness, dash harness, gauge cluster, rear end, suspension. you really need a donor car to do this swap. but if you want to go through this let me know. ive done it.

so all in all, if I want to go through with all of this, it would be the smartest to get a donor car that for the most part still has everything intact...so that I can take almost all the important stuff off of it, and put it on the good car?
