Hello all I'm new here but not new to the camaro world. I recently purchased a 1996 camaro SS (car number 2339) 6spd t top car. My question is the mirrors are red but the sail panel behind the time tops is black. I know they usually are both black unless D82 ( monochromatic roof) is ordered. Well I do have the D82 RPO code and my mirrors are red ......... So my question is why is my sail panel behind t tops black? Has it been replaced ? Painted ?

Anyone run into this ??

some one may have wanted red mirrors on the car ,an put them on ,or the sail may have faded an they choose black

 

Agreed. I think the Mirrors should be red because of the D82 monochromatic roof/mirror code. Someone must have changed the sail panel for any number of reasons.

When I get the car resprayed (front end looks like it was shot with a pebble machine gun) I assume they can paint the sail panel and I will not have to replace with a red one. For all I like to think I know about these cars things like this really bother me lol. Thanks for the reply.
