1995 Camaro V6 L32 Engine Cap Mystery
Hello All
I am new am here and happy to have found this forum!
I have a question about my 1995 V6 3.4L that I am hoping somebody here can help with. While reassembling the engine today, I noticed a couple of small holes in a steel cap on the front of the block. I have searched everywhere but cannot figure out what this is so that I can fix/replace. Pictures are attached (blue circled item is the steel cap with the small holes). If anyone knows what this is that would be great. Any suggestions on how to address would also be appreciated.
Thanks All!
Mike

Yes - good advice for sure! Fastest delivery package coming with 10 plugs, so even after replacing all of them I’ll have spares.
Quite a bit of corrosion in the cooling system that had done the damage to the freeze plug. Engine came from rear-end wrecked 95 Camaro. Donor car must have been sitting at wreckers for a while. Once engine is in my car I’ll need to do some cooling system flushes to clean it out. Hoping there are no big surprises on this one!
