134a refrigerant hi/lo pressure specs
Hi all, I'm new to the forum although I have an 03 vette I thought I would seek advice here regarding my a/c charge. There seems to be many interpretations on the proper charging on the corvette forum. I have a dual zone system and experienced a blend door issue which I have corrected. I evacuated my system and have added about 20 oz. Of freon (gm says 1.75) so I'm a little lite. (I owned a plumbing heating and cooling business for 40 yrs ) using my vac pump I vacuumed it down for about 45 minutes at which point I began adding gas. Right now I'm at about 35 psi low and 225 high. I'm blowing nice cool air so no prob there. What I've read on the vette forum they look for more like 40 - 45 psi on the low side and high pressure running in the mid 300s revving the engine to 2000 rpms which seems a kinda high. I'm pleased with my results even though I could add another 8 ounces. Just lookin for some info from you Camaro guys that have recharged their system. I live in sw florida it was 83f today. Humidity unknown but i,'d guesstimate 75 to 80 percent minimum. Any tips will be appreciated
I'm no expert, but from reading the pressures you've posted, I think you are within the ranges recommended by the service manual charts for the temperature and humidity. I've attached the pages from the service manual that has the charts and procedures that should help determine the proper charge pressures. Hope this helps.
Agree, temperature gauge/probe in the center vent and fan speed on LOW giving air a longer time blowing across the core exchanging heat as opposed to HIGH speed.
