Default 00 SS Rearend.

Just picked up another rearend. Its from an 00 SS new axels, paid $100 bucks. Now looking @ it, I dont see any harness for the ABS. I have a 99 coupe that didnt have a posi. I replaced the rear with one from a 95 Z28. The ABS wont work due to the fact that they were two different systems. Looking @ the rearend I just picked up, I noticed there arespeed sensors on each axel. Do Ihave to buy a new harness for the 00 R/E ( I will anyways cause this one doesnt have one) and do I have to change anything else to convertmy carsPCM to tell it I am now running two speed sensors. The original rearend was a non posi with the speed sensor in the top of the rearend housing. Any help would be appreciated before I spend $$$ I dont have too.

You ended up getting a rear end from a car that was origionally equiped with TCS, you need to find one that did not have TCS and it will have the single wheel speed sensor that you need.

Sounds like you had a 3 channel (sensor running off the sun gear on the carrier) and your new one is a 4 channel (Traction control car) rear end, your best bet is to sell the one you just bought and look for another 3 Channel.

Try LS1tech,CamaroZ28.com they always have someone selling a 10 bolt (you want w/o TCS)

yeah i did the same to my 95z28 camaroi used to have. i bought a rearend to a 94 z28 camaro. my 95 camaro had thetraction switch and the abs. the rearedn i bought did not have the traction control. i still hook it up i just didnt have the traction control or abs wasnt working. the car ran no diffenrent. only thing i noice different was if i slammed on the brakes really hard the car would slide but still stopped on the dime.

The car stops fine. The reason I am intrested in fixing the problem is that in the State of Masschusettes if there is any warning light on in your dash, it fails for a sticker. So, if I delete the ABS, this should take care of it? What do I need to do this, a reprogramer?

Some 6ers came with a posi. That's about the extent of my knowledge.
