Default Rims?

I have an '88 Camaro and have a few questions about rims & the bolt pattern & such
Althought the rims will probably be one of my last projects (i'm doing an engine swap & paint first) I am still keepin my eyes open
I have been looking on the internet lately and have noticed a few different things
I have found some rims that say they will fit an '88-'03 Camaro and also found some that say they fit '82-'92 & '93-'03
Anybody know why this is? Would rims that are made for a '93-'03 fit on my '88?
If anybody knows, please let me know
Thanks

Default RE: Rims?

1st and 2nd gen cars can pretty much switch rims with no problems

the 1st gen ralley rims also fit 3rd gen alright if you get the ones with the disc brake backspacing instead of the drum

3rd generation rims will fit pretty nicely on 2nd and 1st gen cars with, sometimes, a little rubbing in front with lock to lock turns.

4th gen rims have a much different backspacing than the others. it is almost a front wheel drive offset. I think the fronts will stick out too much to work. you might get away but it won't look the way it should
