where is the MAP

Default where is the MAP

im having problems with my 92 camaro rs. it starts but if i dont pump the gas the whole time it runs itll stall out and die. heard it could be problems with the MAP and i dont kno where thats at. if anyone has any other suggestions please let me kno.

sure your not thinking of MAF? mass air flow sensor? that would make more sense. should be near the intake

I used to keep one in the center console but if you get an ipod or a garmin you wont have use for a map ever again.

wow guys, you were helpful

you didnt specify what type of fueling it was, whether its tbi or tpi. if its tbi, it will be on the intake manifold somewhere, im not exactly sure where though. if anything, it should be directly under the tbi unit. if it was tpi, it should be on the underside of the upper plenum, i think towards the rear. also, does it just plane idle too low to run, or does it completely stall out from running rich? usually if the map fails, the computer defaults and will still run/idle. if anything, it could be the iac as they are prone to failure
