That sensor was just to operate the door in the snorkle to open when the engine is warmed up. Is your choke wire on? Also since the choke operates off the alternator if its bad and not putting out any juice the choke light will come on. And there is a sticky here in the third gen section that shows you how to check for codes if the check engine light is on
