Default whats the diffrence between "LT' and "LS"

Ok, I did search for this before posted to no prevail.

what I want to know is what is the diffrence between these motors as follows:LT1,LS1,LS7,ans the ZR-1 motors?

I pretty sure a LS6 is 454 right? And I think the difference between a LT1 and Ls1 is a iron block apposed to an aluminum block. if Iam inncorect or off detail then let me know.

oh,since Iam on the subject, whats the diffrence between a fourth gen ss and Z28?

Real quick:
LT1 (old) OHV, high performance small block, 350" carburated

LT1 (new) OHV, 350" based on high performance small block, 350", reverse cooling, front cover mounted distributor, sequential fuel injection, iron block, aluminum heads (usually),2 or 4 bolt mains

LT4 improved version of LT1, 350", iron block, aluminum heads

ZR1 350", 4 cam V8, not based on small block, Corvette only, all aluminum

LS1 346" OHV, entirely new design, conventional cooling, sequential fuel injection, coil on plug ignition, 6 bolt cross bolted mains, all aluminum except in truck use

LS6 346" improved version of LS1

LS7 427" version of LS6
