Indtead of getting the whole exhaust system buy the muffler you want and get an exhaust shop to put all new pipe on it. You can also get a y-pipe for less than $30 at jegs.com. I would recommend getting shorty headers if your not already b/c of ground clearence.

I figured out about the exhaust shop thats a lot cheaper. was orignally thinking about shortys but hedman makes direct fit full length headers for camaros.i asked jegs and they said they didnt show any thing on a issue with ground clearence. so they should work.just wondering what size of pipe i should use if i do true duals with the cherry bomb glass packs or flowmaster 40s with a single in dual out have not made my mind up on which to get

I would go with 2 1/2 inch pipe if you go with true duals. If you go with the flowmaster i would do 3" in 2 1/2" out.

yup go with the 3" flowmaster, id also put into consideration a Borla Exhaust System. it has a 304 stainles steel piping and adjustable block-off plates to adjust sound.

My opinion on the best exhaust system would be 3" catback & 2.5 exhaust tips and all Stainless Steel. Better yet would include SS headers and new Hi-Flow cat. This way you can forget about rusted out exhust problems for the life of your car and it is enough for any addittional engine mods. I went with a complete SLP system (Catco Cat) 8yrs ago and it works for me.

No "LEGAL" & Licenced Exhaust shop in going to install a system without the Cat, even if there are NO emission checks in your area.
