Default want more power!

I have a 1986 iroc 305 tpi it has a little over 119,000 mile. I would like to know if there is something I could do to this engine such as... new heads, chip, bigger throttel body... to get more power. We have already put in new injectores, fusion platimun plug, wires, distributor cap & rouder, fuel filter and we still have a problem just barking the tires. Is this normal? Starts great, idles good, and sounds good just no power. this is a great car, can anyone help!!!

well you wont get a lot of power from the 305 without a good amount of money. Most people usually swap in a 350 crate engine. You can start by doing exhaust, headers and cat-back.You can have your heads ported or buy bigger heads.Along with a larger throttle body.1.6 roller rockers, even a cam down the line.

I have an 86 305 tpi found an 5.7 tbi. Can this swap be made using my tpi off of the 305?

yes. the 350 block can be used to swap your intake, runners and all tpi setup that was on your 5.0 (305). 305 and 350 intakes, oil filters, heads, headers, distributors etc are all swapable. good luck and you will feel a big difference in power when u strap tpi to a 5.7.

The only think you will have to do is put 21# injectors on. The 305 has 19# injectors and the 350 uses the 21#'s. I have found sets around 230, and going on up to almost 400. It's all just what you feel like spending

The 305 and 350 TBI units are 100% identical. Down to the computer.
