v6 to v8 swap

Default v6 to v8 swap

i am getting a 95 z28 motor, trans, rear, pretty much everything. how hard would it be to put it in my 97 3.8, i know everything bolts right up but as far as the wiring and ecu i am lost, anyone kno exactly what has to be done

You need the LT1 computer and wiring harness between the engine and computer, also look for a one piece driveshaft from a V8.

what about the wiring inside the car does anything to be changed or is it just the wiring from the ecu to the motor

z28 pete said that it needs a new computer(ecu) so yes, ya do. You sure it dosent need new engine mounts???

i kno i have to switch the computer and i already have the mounts for the motor, i have everything to drop the motor and everything i was just wondering about the wiring

Get a set of factory wiring diagrams and see what has to go where. Just matching wire colors may not work.
