Default Trans Help???

Hello I have a 86 z28. It came stock with the 305 and 5 speed trans. The kid I bought the car from swapped to a 350 and put a 700 r4 in. Since I've had the car I had to put another 700r4 in because I burnt the other one up and this one feels like its about to go too. I replaced the rear end with one from a 2.8 87 camaro. I'm on the second trans and the third rear end. Now my questions. Is this rear end going to work? And what can I pull a T5 from that would work witha 350? I've herd I can use one from a chevy 1500. Or should I stay with an auto trans? Thank for the help..

Sounds like you are just too hard on vehicles.
As for the T5 any will bolt up to the manual bell house. But you need to find a later one like 88+ because they are stronger. You also have to look at the shifter location as if memory serves they are in different locations for different applications.
But if you are going through rear ends and trannys then you are either getting junk or abusive and a T5 is not a fix for abuse

Proper adjustment of the TV cable on a 700R4/4L60 is critical. Maybe that's why the transmissions are frying up?
