Default Time to restart the rebuild

Okay, here's the situation. A few years ago my grandmother (on my dad's side) decided to give me her camaro for a first car. It's an 83 berlinetta. Not exactly the monster I'm looking for lol, but it's alright. Me and my dad had worked the past couple years on it, fixing and rebuilding it. We had finally got it running, but my father passed away shortly after. I'm now 18, and since, the car has stopped running. We have someone coming down this weekend to get it started again, and now I'm looking to make it a v8 with some power to it. I want to go with a 350 (nothing bigger), one that isn't too absurdly powerful. I was just wondering with labor and all, how much would it cost to drop a 350 in it, and to switch it to a manual 5 speed?? I would just start withone that already has a 350, but this was the car thatme and my dad built and is extremely special to me. Any input is appreciated

Default RE: Time to restart the rebuild

are you looking for a new engine or a rebuilt/used one? Here is what I am putting in my 86-

JEGS

you have to be careful what engine you have if you want to go manual also, mine is automatic. If I have been informed correctly it is very expensive to go that route.
