thermostat
i changed the 195 thermostat to a 180 on my iroc. when i drive the car even on the hottest of days the temp gauge never goes above 160. now i now this is in no way a bad thing, but i was just curious why?
p.s.- i know for a fact that the sending unit and gauge work properly.

Yeah, it has dual electric fans. ive heard some say that these fans didnt kick on until like 220-230 but both of mine kick on early and stay on until i shut off the car. then after sitting all day, on the way home after bout 4-5 miles they will kick on again, and the gauge sits right on 160. i havent messed with them, maybe a previous owner done something to them?? thanks for your reply.

even still with eletric fans the temp should still be 180 cuz the fans just cool the water in the raditor and the thermo opens when the water temp in the motor reaches 180 again its not a bad thing but now im curious
