Supping Up a 350??
I saw another thread about boosting a 305 Engine to put out like 325hp.. Just wondering if there is a similar write up for boosting the power of a 350 5.7l.... I am picking up my Iroc on Friday and want to start immediately on some performance upgrades.. From what I have heard many said that the camaro's 350 wont need much boosting because although it has low hp it moves and moves quick.. but i am looking for some serious moving lol.. i want to teach my brother a lesson about american muscle.. he drives a 2007 Acura TL which I believe has a 0-60 rating of about 5.6-6 seconds.. anyway.. just wondering if you guys had some input on what could be done.. right now its just a stock 350 crate engine with high performance exhaust and Holley throttle body... I mean I am not looking to go crazy with engine swaps or anything like that.. but some upgrades that can be done on somewhat of a budget would be nice.. looking maybe to throw about 1,000 into performance mods..

Well, let's see, you can get a new cam for starters. That and changing heads, but those can get expensive. For $1000 maybe get a cam and port/polish your heads, and dont forget you'll have to reprogram the ECU for TPI. with ported heads and a bigger cam you could be making 300 horses easy enough, up to probably 350 without trouble. My main thing against fuel injection systems is that you have to adjust everything if you go too big for the ECU.MAF systems are more versatile but depending on how big of a cam you put in it you would still have to adjust it. What year camaro are we talking here? do you know if it's Mass Air-flow, or Speed-density system?

lol bored
