Default resto questions

I've started my resto on my 87 IROC. I've purchased what I believe to be all interior and body parts to finish out that part of the resto. But:

1. The car goes to the body shop June 1 to get all the body and paint work done. I really need to get the driveline completed before it goes in so I don't mess up a 10G body and paint job. So, time is running out.

2. I've found some really great turn-key crate motors for good prices, now I will need my 700-r4 re-built to take whatever motor I decide on 360-450HP. I also know I'll need to end up doing U joints and probobly a new rear end. Any advice on a great rear end for the motor/tranny combo?

3. Its down to either a 383/450HP or a 350/420HP.

4. So, I will still have clearance issues concerning exhaust. What headers will fit so I can still run a stock-type cat back exhaust? What portion of the ECM will need hooked back up so the car is somewhat emissions legal?

5. Does anyone have any advice or experience in this type of swap and can offer some info on problems I might run into? I anticipate a pretty smooth drop-in, but I'm worried about computer hookup, and clearance problems. Also, what are the best subframe connectors, as I don't want my car all twisted up after a few months of use.

6. I think I'll need to get the motor orded up by tomorrow so I can get that here mid may, in the mean time I'll get the tranny re-built then start pulling the old motor out. I need to have the car running so the body shop guy can move it around his shop by himself, so you can see my time window is really short.
