Whatever route you take it is going to be expensive. Number one, you will need a 3-seriers BW 9-bolt carrier ( source salvage yard / used or limited new from off shore). 3:73 gears and rebuild kit for 9-bolt. Also this NOT a DIY type of job unless you want a screwed up rear. Also, 9-bolt & 10-bolt parts are NOT interchangeable so don't even think about it. If that 2:77 ratio & LSD is not broken leave it alone. My opinion.

im with black on this the reason i did mine was because a bearing was going out and it was grinding into my pinion

Ok thanks for the input. Can't stand the lack of acceleration i get though.

Well the thread wasn't just mentioning gears, i was also asking about a mild cam, full exhaust, etc. Wondering what kind of potential power numbers i can attempt to achieve on the engine i've got
