I have an '88 IROC-Z with the stock 350 TPI engine. I as wondering what kind of power differences i could expect from changing the exhaust to a magnaflow catback, a mild cam, headers, and possibly switching out the transmission for a t56 and changing the gears from the 2.77's to 3.73's. Thanks for the help :]

 

the 277s to the 373s will make a huge difference i went from 308s to 373s and it made my car accelerate alot quicker

 

i figured it would make a big difference, i cant stand the stock 2.77's in there, but its a limited slip rear so i guess it was win somewhere lose somewhere

 

yeah i still got 20 mpg on the highway on a small roadtrip with my 373s i was amazed

 

what engine is in that? lol thats awesome, i'll definitely have to keep those on top of my to-do list

 

its a 305 with a 700r4 so i have the overdrive i bought it as a crate it has high 200s for horsepower and i will soon be doing exhaust and then after that suspension and heads

You have a BW 9-bolt with a 2 series carrier and you will not be changing to a 3:73 ratio with that set up. Just info.

 

Alright, what do i need to change to put some steeper gears in?
