first problem is putting the gauges at the front. the gauges is supposed to be at the back. chances are you maxxed the pressure out well over 200. 2 psi at the front of the motor is normal. reinstall the gauge and have fun

You failed to mention whether you changed the cam bearings or not. If not, you are going to have low pressure problems when it's hot. It will eventually trash that expensive cam and lifters, hp pump or not. Whats the rule?, 1 psi per hundred rpm? something like that. If this were to come to us, the motor would get yanked and every bearing and seal changed, the pump replaced and the cyl bores spec'd. @ 5400 my motor peaked at 335 hp, the o/p at that speed was 56 psi.

should i just get an oem pump or high volume with anti cavitation grooves?
ill also move gauge to rear of the engine
i get great oil flow through the pushrods but just realized #7 exhaust lifter is collapsing and barely opening the valve and i look down in and can see oil spraying around little pistons the pushrod sits on in the lifter
so im going to pull the intake, remove the lifters, send the lifters back, and replace with new lifters

standard volume will suffice. high volume is only needed if running an oil cooler or pushing over 5k rpms constantly.

btw, what cam did you buy? i wiped out a few lobes on a summit brand cam with a dyno mule. brand new out of the box came. slathered it up good with break in lube, ran it in for 15 minutes, then made 4 dyno pulls

ok, thats pretty good then. and where did you find a port for oil pressure in the front of the motor?

Yeah, don't use that port it reads lower pressure than the port at the back of the cam. I've seen a 10-20 psi difference front to rear.
