I don't want to burst your bubble, but that car may have 119000 miles because with a five digit odometer it rolled over.

Well with the condition you discribe, it led a hard life for 19K....And the last report from Carfax would be 19k, reason that is what a rolled over odometer would show to the unknowing buyer.

So welcome, with your new purchase....Enjoy.

True,

Chris- Black is just trying to help. There were no such things as a 1986 Z28 350TPI t-5'd tranny car. The VIN and rpo codes will tell you the truth on all options etc. Also just looking at the motor you can see if they are centerbolt heads or not.....they should not be for 86 and earlier. There were no 350's til 87, and all 350s were mated to the 700R4 and later the 4l60E. It is possibe someone swapped them out, but why put in factory motors when built ones can be made better cheaper?

I too am skeptical on 19k miles. That seems nearly impossible for a 23 year old car. I know that can happen with the right owners, but you describe extensive restoration. That would indicate a lot more use than you believe, or it sat in the woods with the windows down for a while.

And.....
carfax isn't perfect, especially on older vehicles. On anything 10 years old and newer I'd trust it over someones word, but for a 20+ year old car....someones word is about as accurate as carfax.

ok... the car had two owners one in 86 totaled the car wasn't rebuilt until 91 so in that 5 years it sat the person that i got it from his grandfather bought it for him when he was first born and gave it to his father the father let the car sit in there yard from 91 until i came and got it just a few weeks ago..it of course developed all its problems because the family did not care for it... and mother nature took its toll on it, i believe them because they are an acquaintance that i know,

I got the car running and now wondering about this leak i have that is coming from behind the shield, it doesnt happen unless the car runs is that an indication it is just a hose
