My dad has an 89 iroc 5.0l PFI and it acts like its loading up and the gas tank is building pressure. Its really hot to the touch and it sounds like the gas is boiling. We put new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. We put a new coil and tps on it to any ideas let me know.

 

If the gas in the tank is boiling, you best stay away from it. lol
You can temporarily relieve pressure in the gas tank by removing the gas cap. I suggest pulling the plugs to see how the fuel is burning, and checking the fuel pressure with a proper gauge.

 

Did somebody remove the heat shield that's between the gas tank and muffler by chance?

 

Its not the heat shield the gas is boiling because its running wrong its acting like an carborated car thT is loading up.

 

Ok, you need to clarify your terminology then. The "it's" that is "really hot to the touch" isn't the gas tank?

replace the fuel pressure regulator. mine did the same thing. loaded up at idle and smoked black and smelled like raw fuel. bought the rebuild kit and fixed it immediatly. as for the gas boiling, thats a seperate issue. good luck
