the o2 sensor should be before the collector on the driver side header only. by saying air filters, im assuming its a tpi engine? if so, the o2 wire will be purple. a misadjusted tps and no 02 will cause it to stay in open loop. i dont think it would cause a misfire unless under heavy load. also being in open loop, the timing wont advance as much. do you have an infared temp gun availible?

I do not have a temp gun.

The exhaust system was put on about 11 years ago when my dad had the car. It ran fine for him.

I'm gonna change the TPS tomorrow. I need some help adjusting it though. Any recommendations on how i should go through with this?

its to be set at .45-.50 volts when the throttle is closed, and i think its 4.5 volts at wot. just turn it to get it set correctly. is it a tpi engine?

ok, could be injectors. when its running, put your finger on each one, there will be a distinctive clicking feel. that will determine if the electrical part is good, or you can ohm them with an ohm meter. they could also be clogged or partially clogged

I have a 96 3.8 six cylinder camaro rs its misfiring on multiple cylinders. I think plug wires may be crossed. I just put a new egr valve in it.

i am constantly amazed at the people who remove parts from their cars and THEN bring them to my shop saying things like"after i put(fill in the blank)on it just wont run right" or some version.and i DO charge extra to reassemble their cars correctly after they give up
